The Birth of the Cool Sessions. Tracks recorded 1949 -1950 released collectively as an LP in 1957). The nine piece band included now jazz legends Lee Konitz, Gerry Mulligan, and John Lewis with arrangements by Gil Evans. Read full album info HERE.

Dig Tracks from a 1951 recording session released as an LP in 1956. Players include Jackie McLean, alto sax, Sonny Rollins, tenor sax, and Art Blakey, drums. Read full album info HERE.

Bags Groove (1954) Players include Rollins, Horace Silver, piano, PercyHeath, bass, Kenny Clarke, drums. The album features three Sonny Rollins tunes that became jazz standards: Oleo, Airegin ("Nigeria" backwards), and Doxy. The title track (the first on the album) was written by future Modern Jazz Quartet vibes master, Milt "Bags" Jackson. It is also a jazz standard. The players on that track are Miles, Milt Jackson, vibes, Thelonious Monk, piano, Percy Heath, bass, Kenny Clarke, drums. Read full album info HERE.
